The Ten Commandments / Beatitudes

The Bible Says:

"Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy,
as the Lord your God commanded you."
Deuteronomy 5:12

The Ten Commandments (4) - A Restful Escape

If you are reading this lesson you must have a spiritual life. You love God and want to please Him. He says you need a day of rest! God wants to keep you from taking your life too seriously. He wants you to remember Who is in charge. You need to be reminded that God is here to help you in all that you do. He will supercharge your engine if you will let Him. Praising God and remembering the great love He has for you will get you going for another week. He wants you to have a restful escape from the pressures of a busy week.

Our world has devided our time to five work days and two play days. That was not exactly what God had in mind. He said we were to work for six days of the week, and use the seventh day to rest. He also said to keep the Sabbath Day Holy. That is why Christians set Sunday aside for worshipping God and resting. Jesus arose from the dead on a Sunday. He brought us New Life on a Sunday. It is for our good that God commanded us to rest. He knows that we need to stop and think about Him.

Blessed Are You!

"Then the King will say to those on his right,
'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance,
the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world"
Matthew 25:34

God wants us to be ready for the day we come into His Kingdom. Jesus is the King of kings. He will show us the place He has prepared for us. When we study the Bible we learn to know God. Jesus made a way for us to be with God forever. We are already blessed by God.

The Critters love to worship God in the peaceful meadow of the Kid Cave Forest. Cami Cub is leading the Bible class today. Joshua Jackrabbit will say a prayer. Emmi Squirrel is learning something new that will help her have a wonderful week. Today is Liam Leapfrog's favorite day. Today, he will be quiet and have a restful escape from his busy life in the pond. They love the beautiful world God created for them. They are learning about the Kingdom of God. The Critters want to know about God's wonderful plan to save them!

Our day of rest is a blessing from God. He has made even better plans for us when we come into the Heavenly Kingdom. But, He wants us to enjoy His presence here on earth. If we talk and listen to God on our day of rest, He will keep us calm. We are blessed when we worship Him and learn about His great love.

Did you honor your Mother on Mother's Day? I hope you told her how much you love her. Gramma too! Next week we will see what God has to say about the way we honor our Mothers and Fathers. Come back!
