Let's go to the Animation Trail Devotions and learn how we can live as Jesus would have us live! Let's find out what will please God. I pray these lessons will bless you and make you able to take God's blessings to others. I also pray you will embrace a little different approach to the teaching of the "Fruits of the Spirit," as I will explain; When I created these lessons and illustrated them, God gave them to me in reverse order, starting with "Self Control" and ending with "LOVE." Maybe this is because the Agape Love of Jesus Christ is the most important and the one whereby all the others hold together! It works great when taught in the Kids Church setting and Sunday School as well. Try it...I think you will see how it flows. The bible verse of course should remain taught in the proper order!!!
In the next eight weeks we will learn about the Fruit of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. The Bible says these are love, joy, peace, goodness and kindness, patience, gentleness and mercy, faithfulness and self control. What is the Fruit of the Spirit? Where does this fruit come from? Gramma Cherbear explains that here! In the next eight weekly bible studies and devotional, Gramma's Critters will tell you how to use these gifts the way God wants you to use this fruit. When we believe on the name of Jesus and say that He is Lord, we can become sons and daughters of God. We become brothers and sisters to Jesus. That is Awesome! A perfect, holy God wants to love all of us as His children.
What is Salvation? is a book that helps children understand what Jesus did to save us. Your parent or teacher should help you to learn about salvation. God's Son, Jesus, was perfect. He did not sin and He obeyed God. He was faithful to friends and faithful to God the Father. He loved other people with God's love. He lived with joy and peace about God's plan for His life. He did not live in fear of anyone or anything. He was forgiving and merciful to wrong doers. He was a faithful friend and always in control of his actions and thoughts. Each of these ways to act and be, were given to Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Jesus wanted to please God the Father. God's Spirit knew His heart and supplied Him with all He needed to live a holy life before God. God the Father was very pleased with His Son, Jesus. The link below will take you to many other pages where the "Gospel of Jesus Christ" or "the "Good News" is presented to children in the Kid Cave Caverns. I have also included a link which leads to my "Gospel for preteens and teenagers."
The Fruit of the Spirit is not like the fruit you eat. But, this fruits is a necessary food for your soul. When Jesus walked on the earth, to fulfill His mission He fully relied on God's Holy Spirit to help Him. When Jesus needed strength, He got it from God's Holy Spirit. Jesus used the mighty power of the Holy Spirit to heal sick people and do many miracles. When He taught the crowds of people about God, it was the Holy Spirit that told Him what He must say. That is because Jesus was born to a mother, just like you were. He was a baby, and grew up as a little boy and then became a man. He was God's only Son in heaven, but God send Him to earth to be the Savior of the world. God sent His Holy Spirit to be with Jesus and help Him in every way. Jesus came to earth to live as a man, always depending upon the Holy Spirit of God. He did this to show us how He wants us to live. In the lessons that follow, you will find these truths of God to be easy to follow and understand as Gramma's Critters struggle just as we do to please God in our everyday lives.
We are all a work in progress and "the Bible," "His Word," is will us as our "instruction and boundaries manual." God doesn't want us to struggle. His ways are always a path that moves forward with His great LOVE. The fruit of the Spirit represents the very qualities and character of God Himself. Jesus lived a Spirit filled life. When he left the earth to go back to live in Heaven with His Father, He sent God's Holy Spirit back to the earth to live inside of those who come to know Him. When we live by the Fruit of God's Spirit, we are living a Spirit filled life. God wants all of us to live with these qualities. If we know Him, we have these gifts from Him. The Holy Spirit is in us to help us. But the Holy Spirit is a gentleman. He won't force us to please God. We must choose to live by the Fruit of the Spirit. It takes practice for us to get it right. Don't be sad if you are not perfect. God knew you could not be. That is why He sent Jesus and His Holy Spirit to help you and guide you to Him.
