Greet new members and introduce them to
the class and the Critters.
Open the class with a prayer.
- Read the Bible Verse for the day!
- The Bible Says:
- "...Do not long to have anything that
belongs to your neighbor..." Deuteronomy 5:21
-
- "Blessed are you when people make fun
of you and hurt you because of me... `Your reward in heaven is
great." Matthew 5:11
-
- Objective:
- We should not be jealous of others or want
what they have. We can be content with what He has given us.
God has rewards and crowns for His children in heaven. We are
all blessed by God in different ways.
-
- (God Commands)
- Have you ever looked at another kid's home
and thought, "I wish I lived in a home like Have you ever
looked at another kid's home and thought, "I wish I lived
in a home like that." Do you look at their toys and want
them? Maybe you have wished you look like someone else. God does
not want you to think about what you do not have. We are all
special to God. He knows exactly what we need. He wants you to
see all of your blessings.
-
- Wanting to be like someone else or have their
blessings will keep our minds looking at what the world offers.
We will not see what God has to offer. God wants us to see our
own blessings. We can be happy when we keep our eyes on Jesus.
This will bring God's peace, comfort, joy and love into our hearts.
He wants us to bring His blessings to others.
-
- (Blessed Are You!)
- If we know Jesus Christ as our Lord and understand
what it means to be saved, we have the hope and joy in our hearts
that comes from knowing God. There is no greater joy. Many people
do not know about God. They make fun of our hope and joy. They
can be very hurtful to God's children. They live for themselves
not knowing God wants them to live for Him. God says we will
see our reward in heaven. Heaven is our forever 'Home Sweet Home'!
-
- (Let the Critters help teach the lesson)
-
- Home Sweet Home!
- Cami Cub lives with Gramma Cherbear in the
Kid Cave. Emmi Squirrel has a nest high up in a tree. Emmi is
the only one of the Critters whose home is in a tree! Joshua
Jackrabbit lives in the beautiful poppy field meadow just at
the edge of the forest. God has given Him a beautiful home. Liam
leapfrog makes his home in the sparkling waters of the Kid Cave
Pond. All of the Critters are blessed by God in different ways.
They are all happy with what God has given them. Each loves their
own "Home Sweet Home'.
-
- (closing)
- Repeat today's Bible verses.
- When we do not to see all the good God does
for us, we miss the calm, sweet peace that is ours because of
Jesus. His resurrection gave the gift of the Holy Spirit inside
of us. We should try gliding on the wings
of the dove instead of desiring the soaring heights of the
eagle.
Worship God with music.
