Easter Sunday - Heavenly Ascent

Teachers may add their own creative skills and special touches. You can use snacks, play games, select music and/or use a study of the people in the Bible chosen by God to teach this lesson. At Calvary Kidz Church, we will be having our church drama team present a skit with some of the lessons. Each week is different. Be creative and capture their attention. Remember they will be getting to know the Critters, their personalities, and be able to relate to them as time goes on.

Greet new members and introduce them to the class and the Critters.

Open the class with a prayer.

Read the Bible Verse for the day!

The Bible Says:

"You have been raised up with Christ. So think about things that are in heaven. That is where Christ is. He is sitting at God's right hand." Colossians 3:1

 

Objective:

Bring the Gospel to the children today!

 

 

(Speak with the children)

Easter Sunday is hopefully a very special day at your house. I hope you will learn some wonderful things about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Gramma Cherbear wants you to pay very close attention. You will be learning the most important lesson of the year!

 

(Teach the children)

Our God is an Awesome God. We can be close to Him when we accept the gift of His Son. Jesus suffered, died and was separated from Father God because of our sins. Three days after His terrible death on the cross, Jesus was raised from the dead. This is the day we celebrate on Easter. He is with His Father in heaven. Jesus sends His Holy Spirit to live in our hearts when we ask Him to. We need to tell Jesus we love him today!

Easter Sunday - Heavenly Ascent

Gramma's Critters have one person on their minds today. Jesus! It is a very special day. It is Easter! Jesus was raised to a new life on this day. The Critters will pray in a special way. They will be thinking about heaven. They will thank God for sending Jesus to save us, and for bringing Him back to a new life in heaven. They will worship and praise the Lord Jesus.

Repeat today's Bible verse.

There is nothing more important than knowing we belong to God. Because of Jesus we can.

If you already have Jesus in your heart, and know you are God's child, it is a day to be thankful. If you have never asked Jesus into your heart, pray and ask God to speak to your heart about becoming His child. Tell Him you want to know Him. Ask your parents, church school teachers or pastors to help you know Jesus as your Savior. Let them explain how Jesus needs to be in the center of your life and why you need to let Him your boss! God bless you!

Worship God with music.

Activities:

Pass out the coloring pages.

Explain the daily devotions! Encourage the Kids to show these to their parents and get help as they continue to learn how God takes care of them through the week.

Pray this prayer:

Father God,

I understand that I do bad things. You call this sin. I ask You to fill my empty heart with Jesus. I believe that Jesus is Your Son. He was punished for my sins. He died for me on the cross because He loves me. He lives again. Please forgive the bad things I have done. Thank you for sending Your Holy Spirit to live inside of me. Help me to be like Jesus. Thank you God, for your wonderful plan. I am Your child! Jesus is my Lord and my very best Friend!

Joy is another one of the gifts of God's Holy Spirit. Our next lesson will teach us about the Joy we can have from God as we return to our study on the Fruits of God's Spirit.
