Notes for the Teacher!

The Campfire Lights the Darkness (1)

Teachers may add their own creative skills and special touches. You can use snacks, play games, select music and/or use a study of the people in the Bible chosen by God to teach this lesson. At Calvary Kidz Church, we will be having our church drama team present a skit with some of the lessons. Each week is different. Be creative and capture their attention. Remember they will be getting to know the Critters, their personalities, and be able to relate to them as time goes on.

Greet new members and introduce them to the class and the Critters.

Open the class with a prayer.

Read the Bible Verse for the day!

The Bible Says:

Objective:
Encourage the children to study God's Word and to ask God what is the right thing for them to do. Explain the difference between seeing with your eyes and mind, and seeing with our heart and spirit. Also explain how God is always with us when the lights are off.
(Speak with the children)
Sometimes you don't see clearly with your eyes and mind or your heart and spirit. Your eyes and mind can play tricks on you in the dark. Your heart and spirit look search truth. When you don't know what is true, what is right from wrong or good from bad, you can get into trouble. It is like being in the dark. You cannot see as good as you did when the light was on.

(Teach the children)
God wants to be our Lamp! He can light our way and keep us out of trouble. What He says in His Word is true! The Bible shows us right from wrong and good from bad. God's Holy Spirit helps us understand what is written in the Bible. Jesus shines a bright light in our heart and spirit so we can see more clearly, what is good and what is true. We can know what is wrong or evil in God's eyes. Knowing what God says in His Word will help keep us out of the darkness.

(Let the Critters help teach the lesson)

The Campfire Lights the Darkness (1) with illustration.

The Kid Cave Forest Critters are having a celebration at the camp grounds. Cami Cub and Liam Leapfrog have made the campfire but it is still very dark in the forest. They see something in the distance that has frightened them. They need a Lamp to show them what is in the darkness.

Cami Cub and Liam Leapfrog are in need of a brighter light. They cannot know the truth about what the see in the distance in the darkness of the Kid Cave Forest.

(closing)

Repeat today's bible verse.
God is always with us. When we pray, His Spirit will comfort us. Jesus gave us His Holy Spirit so we can see what is good and what is bad. He will lead us to make the right choices as we study what the Bible Says! The Lamp God gave to lead us through the dark and into knowledge of what is good and bad is His Word. The Light it shines is Jesus!

Worship God with music.

Activity: Use a "people of the Bible" lesson of your choice to add to this study.

Pass out the coloring pages.

Explain the daily devotions! Encourage the Kids to show these to their parents and get help as they continue to learn how God takes care of them through the week.
