Open the class with a prayer.
Read the Bible Verse for the day!
The Bible Says:
"I will lie down and sleep in peace. LORD you alone keep
me safe." Psalm 4:8
Objective:
Speak with the children about fear and worry. Teach them to trust
in God.
(Speak with the children)
Do you get frightened sometimes? God says He does not want you
to be afraid. He wants you to trust Him in all things. The Bible
says, if you start to worry, quickly change your thoughts toward
things you know to be good, beautiful and true. Then always be
sure to thank Him for His loving care.
(Teach the children)
We do not need to be afraid. There are many things in the world
that can scare us or make us feel helpless. God does not want
us to feel that way. He wants us to rest and know He is God and
can take care of us. There is nothing too big for God to handle.
God does not give us fear. He gives us peace and joy. When we
are afraid, He will bring a quiet resting to our souls when we
ask Him to. We should think about How wonderful He is!
(Let the Critters help teach the lesson)
Peace in the Meadow with illustration.
There is a storm coming in the clouds above
the meadow. Joshua Jackrabbit is trusting God with the storm.
He might get a little wet, but he is not worried. God will lead
him to safety when the time comes. He really looks like he is
enjoying the beautiful meadow God has given him to rest in. God
has created many wonderful things for Joshua to see and think
about. Joshua gives thanks to God everyday.
Show how Joshua is resting and trusting God with the storm. Read
or tell it as if you were doing a story book. Remember they will
be getting to know the Critters, their personalities, and be
able to relate to them as time goes on.
(closing)
Repeat today's Bible verse.
Fear can keep us from enjoying all the blessings God has given
to us.When our eyes look for the beautiful things and blessings
around us, we will not be bothered with fear. When you become
afraid, ask God to take fear away and replace it with His peace
and joy.
Worship God with music.
