New Beginnings Rise and Shine
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9
God's Accessible "Do Overs"
This week it has come to me just how fragile life really is. Each day comes with its own set of challenges. Whether our thoughts and actions or those of others become the cause of any degree of conflict or pain, the consequences can seem to much to bare. If we dwell on the negative and forget the goodness of our loving God, what could become a truly blessed day may turn into a disaster. Have you ever wished you could have a "do over?" As Christians we are fortunate to have God's accessible "do overs" every day.
Through the LORD"s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
I can't remember a day without coming to the end with a regret of something I've said or done knowing in my heart could have been more pleasing to God. At the beginning, nightly prayers seem to be more about forgiveness and a plea to help me to do better. Then IN FAITH, He... turns my thoughts to thankful prayers realizing He is already involved in the repair of any damage I or others may have inflicted upon the day. Knowing He is so faithful in forgiveness, I begin to rest with a clear conscience knowing His love is absolute and unconditional. Although I do fall short of my expectations, it is what I am willing to allow Him to do in me that concerns Him.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:17
He knows what is in our hearts better than we do. He is the One Who cleanses the heart! God knows when we become His children seeking peace, loving others and Him for the right reason, because He loved us first. We sometimes seem to be stumbling through life, falling down in some respects and depending on His great mercy to pick us up and lead us in the way of peace.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:9
It is in the break of dawn and we "rise and shine" with the 'New Beginning' God has planned for us, when we can seek the rewards of redemption for all our proceeding days. Each new day is a blessing from God. When we seek Him first we can gain His outlook for the day. There are days we need Him more and He is always waiting to fill whatever that need may be.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace...Ephesians 1:7
Because Jesus came, suffered and died taking our sin and shame, and for the reason He was resurrected as our advocate and intercessor to Father God, we received mercy and unmerited favor with God. Jesus made the ultimate exchange for us on the cross; We need to accept and embrace these "New Beginning" heart changes which honor His sacrifice.
A Prayer to Share:
I wish to seek to live each day progressively learning to live the way You would have me live. Show me Your ways and enable good and gracious thoughts to extend through me to others. I am thankful for each new day and pray I will search out the blessings You bestow. Thank You Lord for each of these "NEWS" that I can use in my spiritual walk with You!
This week concludes my six week series on some of the things that become "New" in us when we know Jesus Christ as the Savior and the Lord of our life. Not until we enter Heaven's Gate will we achieve all God wishes to change in us, for our good and for His good as well. As we go forward with the devotions and these lessons, it is my hope we can see the many characters of God and learn how we can use them to further His Kingdom purpose!
