Trusting God with the future, while looking into uncertain times.

Nearing 50 years of age, we began to pray for my husband to get out of 16 years in swing shift work. As our walk with Jesus grew, we began to ask God for a different job. He is faithful! However, we are sometimes perplexed by the initial outcome.

My husband was downsized from a secure position, in April of '95. We lost our security blanket. At the same time, I heard God tell me to give Him my time and talents! The following June, we agreed that I should close my beauty shop and leave a successful hairstyling career of 28 years. "IN FAITH, HE..." kept us strong and convinced us to hold firm to our commitment to tithe to the church. God is our provider! His faithfulness has sustained us!

Nahum 1:7 "The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.."

Mal. 3:10-11 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty.

Like Abraham, we can't see where God is taking us. He brings confirmation when we need it. He continues to supply our needs, and our lives are filled with more of Him! When worry comes, and it sometimes does, we hold onto God's Word with Paul's teaching:

Phil. 4:6-9 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable --if anything is excellent or praiseworthy --think about such things.Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me --put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

We live with joy and peace about the unknown future. God is already there; He has prepared the way for us! My husband has as job with less stress and I love helping Christians discover their community in the internet. It's a day to day plan for me, as I work on the books and illustrations. I am privileged to provide Christian content for children at Cherbear's Den in the Kid Cave. God is faithful to our obedience to Him. I know that the work that I do is firmly held in the hand of God. What He has done, He will finish! His faithfulness continues!

Lord, it isn't always easy. We fall down. You pick us up. You provide our hiding place and we do not falter. You are faithful, God. Thank you for being our Provider. Amen

Help My Unbelief!

Two years of chronic fatigue after a hepatitis virus attacked my liver, took its toll on me, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I was where God wanted me.

Paul said, in 2 Cor. 12:9 ... And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

"IN FAITH, HE..." led me to pray, "Lord, I can't serve you like this, heal my blood and lead me where you want me in your service." One month later, the Doctor called, "Your blood isn't doing strange things anymore." Praise God! When I prayed, "God help my unbelief! He gave me faith to claim His mighty power.

Mark 9:24 ... "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

Father, your grace is sufficient for me. I love watching you work in my life. Keep me mindful of your presence, that I may give you the glory for all you do! Amen

Death to Self - Life in the Spirit

So often my "self" threatens the quality of my service and commitment to God. It's a natural phenomena. However, it is a very real daily problem facing Christians. The accounts are too many to focus on one. I'm sure you understand.

I find that when I cry out to Jesus for recovery when "self" gets in the way, "IN FAITH, HE..." meets the need. His peace, power, courage, compassion, forgiveness, or humbling spirit, are mine for the asking. A cry for "death to self" brings forth the fruits of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, indwelling every born again believer. He is quick with our recovery. We see instant results, and we get to see Him do it! Yes!

Gal. 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control...!

Lord, Resting in your goodness. Giving you the reigns. Trusting not in who I am but who You are in me. Your Spirit lets me know when I am out of line with you. Thank you for the nudges that help me to grow and learn a better way. Thank you for Life in the Spirit. Amen

Satan Deceives - Jesus Relieves

Psalm 139:12-16 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Words from God spoken directly to me? OH! PLEASE! NO! Filthy rags cover my body, dripping with the blood of a child, once considered to be a matter of inconvenience, a tissue to be removed. My part in the shedding of innocent blood, plunging me into a pit of sorrow and remorse.

WAIT! Blood now pouring over me. The blood of the Lamb, casting me from the pit of sorrow into Jubilee! "IN FAITH, HE..." revealed just how precious the flow of His blood really is. Jesus is my personal Savior. I have only to ask and receive forgiveness, PEACE! Forgiveness and Peace! Thank You, Jesus!

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Lord Jesus, Keep us alert to the scemes of the evil one. We want our eyes to be open and our ears to hear. Your way is the only way. Thank You for showing us and thank You Lord for Your forgiveness and unconditional love. Amen
