When God says to honor
your father and mother, He has added a promise about how things
will go for you if you obey this commandment.
- "Honor
your father and mother,
- just as the
LORD your God commanded you.
- Then you
will live a long time in the land he is giving you.
- And things
will go well with you there."
- Deuteronomy
5:16

- This means you will
have a better life when you obey and honor your parents. As you
are growing up, you will have happier times because you have
listened and learned good things from them.

Prayer
Father God,
When I want to do
things my own way, help me honor my parents and love them at
all times. Speak to their hearts about me and guide them as they
teach me Your ways.
